Prepare the entire contents of the bag at once to ensure a uniform color. If using multiple bags of the same color, mix them together before painting. The prepared paint will keep in the refrigerator for about a week, and as a powder, it will last for years if stored in a dry place.
Coverage is approximately 5–10 m²/l per coat, and 1–3 coats are needed depending on the surface and the desired finish. For example, repainting an old painted surface is ~10 m²/l, and painting a clay plaster surface is ~5 m²/l. Non-porous surfaces (e.g., wood) increase consumption, and light colors often require two coats.
Apply the paint with a brush using light, crosswise strokes in thin layers. We recommend a naturmix brush (half synthetic, half natural bristle). If using a roller, be prepared for more coats and higher consumption. Stir the paint regularly while painting, as the clay will settle to the bottom.
The paint adheres best to absorbent surfaces made of natural materials. While wet, the paint is darker and translucent, but it lightens and becomes opaque as it dries (touch-dry in about 2–4 hours).
Natural color variations may occur. We recommend test painting or ordering a color sample before making a larger purchase. Clean tools with water.
